DAVID ANTHONY TAYLOR LL.B. (SYD)
Principal at Taylors Solicitors
medalDavid A. Taylor Snr is the founding principal of Taylors Solicitors and was the sole practitioner until he was joined by his son in 2006. He was admitted as a solicitor in New South Wales in 1970 after completing his Articles of Clerkship with Truman Nelson Norman & Howard of Sydney under his Master Solicitor, John Howard (the 25th Prime Minister of Australia).
Mr Taylor subsequently worked in private practice in Sydney whilst between 1975 and 1979 served on the Waverly Council. David Snr became Mayor of the Municipality of Waverly in 1977. Also in 1977, for his services to the community he was awarded the Queen’s Silver Jubilee Medal.

After serving on the Council, David Snr moved from Sydney to Brisbane in the early 80s and was admitted as a Solicitor in Queensland in 1984. Since this time David Snr has been responsible for many high profile civil matters and handled thousands of claims. This includes successfully appealing to the High Court of Australia on behalf of a client in 1991, a rare feat for a sole practitioner.

Until early 2007, David Snr served as a Queensland solicitor representative on a Committee within the Law Council of Australia.

David Snr continues to act as the principal of Taylors and maintains his reputation of being a formidable “old school” advocate.
